The British première of the Multi
Award winning Broadway musical 'Thoroughly Modern
Millie', stars Amanda Holden as Millie Dillmount,
Maureen Lipman play Mrs Meers and Sheila Ferguson as
Muzzy Van Hossmere, with Craig Urbani plays Mr
Trevor Graydon and Mark McGee as Jimmy Smith.
Thoroughly Modern Millie transports audiences to a
Manhattan at the height of the Jazz Age. Millie
Dillmount (Amanda Holden) travels from Kansas in
search of a new life and a wealthy husband. As she
checks in to the Hotel Priscilla she encounters
eccentric proprietor Mrs Meers (Maureen Lipman) and
her riotous adventures in New York City begins...
Based on the 1967 Oscar winning film this musical
has been playing to packed houses since it opened on
Broadway in April 2002. It received Best Musical,
Best Choreography and Best Costumes in the Tony
Awards. Songs include 'Forget About The Boy', 'What
Do I Need with Love?' and the title song.
Amanda Holden and Maureen Lipman will be appearing
in this year's Royal Variety Performance.
Unfortunately due to the filming commitments for the
above, they will be unable to appear in the
performance of 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' on Monday
24th November. For this performance the role of
'Millie' will be played by Donna Steele and the role
of 'Mrs Meers' will be played by Marti Webb.
